Biographical sketch:

Iā€™m Annalisa Ferrotta, a 3rd year Pharmacology PhD student at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Previously, I received my BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology from Binghamton University.

I am interested in elucidating molecular resistance mechanisms to targeted therapies in cancer and using these findings to (1) propose rational drug combinations and (2) better inform patient selection for clinical trials to ultimately improve patient outcomes. Under the guidance of Dr. Ingo Mellinghoff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), my thesis work aims to investigate resistance mechanisms to inhibition of growth-factor driven signaling to effectively target and disrupt tumor maintenance.

Outside of the lab, I am involved throughout the Tri-I community, including as a student representative for the Pharmacology program, a graduate teaching assistant for Principles of Pharmacology: Signal Transductions, and as president of the TRIBC. I also like to spend my free time outside playing tennis, traveling, and reading!
