Biographical sketch:

Dvir Avnon-Klein is a 1st year PhD student studying biomedical science at The Rockefeller University. Previously, he was a neuroscience researcher at the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) studying microglial function in neurodegenerative diseases.

Before joining the ASRC, Dvir was awarded a full scholarship to conduct immunology research at the Weizmann Institute as well as a fellowship to research embryogenesis at Caltech. In addition to basic research, Dvir has led award-winning biotech startup projects at several competitions including the JA Business Competition (first place), QC PitchFest (finalist), CLASH Startup Competition (finalist), and NSF/CUNY Innovation Corps (grant recipient).

When he’s not in the laboratory, you can find him rocking out on his violin, spreading the gospel of biotech as an event planner for TRIBC, or communicating science as a Teaching Fellow with The New York Academy of Science.
