Kevin Chen
EVENT PLANNING COMMITTEE
I’m Yan-Ting Chen, also known as Kevin Chen, a 4th year PhD student in Gerstner Sloan Kettering (GSK) Graduate School at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Before starting my doctoral studies, I have received my BSc and MSc degree in National Chiao Tung University and National Taiwan University, respectively.
My long-term research interest is to unravel the ways cells respond to environmental stressors and how we can leverage these findings to improve clinical outcomes. Mentored by Dr. Santosha Vardhana, my current research aims to investigate how immune system become unable to exert immunity in the tumor, a poorly understood territory marked by various environmental stressors including but not limited to metabolic stress, with an ultimate goal to identify synergistic potential of metabolic intervention and existing immunotherapies.
Outside of lab, I’m actively involved in TRIBC on the Event Planning Committee and the Curriculum Advisor in the GSK Student Council. I also enjoy running, hiking, watching basketball games, and singing (I just like to sing not necessarily a good singer).
